The primary responsibility of the Senior Scientist is to champion new targets, provide strategic, scientific and provide technical guidance for conducting research involving mitochondrial biology.
PhD w/ Post-Doc experience with at least 3 years experience in biotech/pharmaceutical industry is required
At least 3 years experience developing in vitro assays to measure mitochondrial bioenergetics across cell types and model key aspects of disease-related cell biology is required
Experience investigating program-relevant pathways in novel areas of mitochondrial diseases is required
Extensive knowledge of molecular and cellular mechanisms involved in mitochondrial energetics in several tissue is required
Experience of techniques to determine in vitro, ex vivo and in vivo mitochondrial function is required
Experience originating & developing new project idea and creating impactful impact in the lab is preferred
Must be comfortable spending a minimum 90% of time spent in the lab
Experience as H2L+ project leader is preferred
Robust external network and publication record
Demonstrated knowledge for independent research and innovative thinking
Background in metabolism is preferred
