What you’ll be doing...
Join our Corporate Information Security Team focused on risk management and assurance. You will be responsible for leading and coordinating, articulating, and tracking actions related to developing and driving the implementation of cyber security risk management plans, ensuring effective cyber security risk management practices, and engaging with the business unit members on a wide range of cyber security matters to achieve overall business objectives.
You will perform research and oversee activities as assigned primarily within risk management. You will lead technical projects across all technical areas to mitigate risk. You will also engage with the business and various functions such as finance, legal, regulatory, compliance, audit, supply chain to identify risks and implement risk mitigation plans to address cyber security risks.
Lead security initiatives critical to the Corporate Information Security team.
Develop and implement corporate wide cyber security risk management plans working across Verizon to include resource management, investment allocations and identification of key risk programs and metrics that ensure the risk management strategy is being executed. Review key cyber security reporting metrics across the business. Maintain and adjust the risk management strategy, both short and long term, based on changing threat and Verizon information security environment
Work with the business on effective risk mitigation plans and address matters requiring executive escalation and decision making. Lead the CIS Risk Management functions, as assigned, and maintain risk management framework.
Responsible for engaging with business leaders, on risk matters ranging from policy and governance to security operations. Lead and ensure coordination and consensus with other Verizon Business Unit security teams to align processes and procedures to ensure common approach to risk management activities.
Function as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on cybersecurity technical capabilities, service delivery and solution architecture based on industry standard frameworks (NIST, ISO, PCI, ITIL, COBIT, TOGAF).
Drive improvements and innovation in the security solutions through a deep understanding of emerging risk trends, technical reviews, security threats, business requirements, and architectural views. Oversee development and delivery of robust alternative methods of service delivery and operation (tools, process and data) through automation.
Drive performance against an iterative, practical technical transformation strategy and roadmap to ensure that Verizon builds the necessary technologies, skills and experience in time to effectively support the strategic goals of defending the business. Work with business and technical stakeholders to define and oversee the establishment of enterprise-level KPIs related to the reduction of time to detect, respond, and remediate key technical security risks.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Even better if you have:
A degree.
Experience in IT, application development and support, and cyber security.
Knowledge in multiple cybersecurity areas such as Identity and Access Management, Security Governance, Information Risk, Awareness and Education and/or Security Strategy.
Knowledge of information security fundamentals, best practices and industry standards with prior responsibilities of protecting information assets.
Experience in managing information security functions, strategy and risk within a Fortune 100 company with greater than 100K employees.
Experience in strategy development and risk management.
Demonstrated understanding of cyber security risk management concepts, cybersecurity frameworks, control standards, secure coding principles, and security technologies.
Experience with ISO 27001-2, NIST 800-53, or other controls standards.
Proven expertise in security risk management while considering business drivers and implications.
Ability to build a strong understanding of cyber risks and adversaries to Verizon.
Experience working with cross-functional teams.
Experience creating and maintaining partnering relationships with business leaders at VP, SVP, CIO levels with the capability to provide executive level communications.
Demonstrated strong communication, presentation and analytical skills along with the ability to thrive in a dynamic
