Position Summary:

Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for large technology implementations and their successful execution. This includes providing testing guidance during all phases of the software development lifecycle within Kroger Technology, focused on increased quality and efficiency through automation and analytics. Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.
Essential Job Functions:

Demonstrate technical leadership via formulation of test architecture and design, development, maintenance of test frameworks (SOA, web, mobile, ETL)
Maintain critical initiatives on testing strategies and effectively communicate updates to senior management
Drive quality initiatives, test automation strategy and testing efforts for large complex projects and programs
Assesses quality risks of complex solutions, build appropriate test strategy to mitigate risks
Collaborate with lines of business and technical teams to provide input to and gain buy in on the overall quality strategy
Review third party contracts and statement of work documents (SOWs) to ensure that quality criteria are clearly stated and met
Partner with third party vendors on common processes, conduct reviews and provide feedback on deliverables and overall team dynamics
Develop/oversee the development of test activities estimates, resource plans, costs, benefits, and timelines for the program
Mentor team members, educate teams on quality assurance (QA) best practices and share lessons learned
Drive root-cause analysis and work with cross functional teams to implement corrective actions
Drive quality across all Kroger Technology development disciplines, provide guidance, feedback and suggestions to improve quality practices
Research emerging test tools, trends and methodologies and enhance existing systems and processes

Minimum Position Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in information technology or equivalent
8 years’ quality assurance software testing experience
8 years’ experience in software automation tools such as: CA Dev Test, HP UFT, Selenium
8 years’ experience in testing standard internet protocols (HTTP/S, REST)
3 years’ experience in a leadership capacity
3 years’ experience in Scaled Agile Framework
Strong technical expertise and in-depth knowledge of multiple lines of business
Solid understanding of automation, performance, SOA, ETL virtualization and CICD testing principles
Strong knowledge of programming/scripting languages
Strong knowledge of testing tools such as: Quality Center, JIRA, TeamCity, GitLab
Proven analytical skills, root-cause analysis, problem-solving skills, and decision-making skills
Proven effective communication and presentation skills
Desired Previous Job Experience

Prior experience leading large size or highly complex projects
Prior experience leading offshore teams
Testing certification a plus
