*Serve as the liaison for NC Community Colleges
*Serve as the primary contact person regarding academic advising for transfer students from 4-year institutions
*Market and coordinate WCU’s outreach to feeder institutions. Examples of outreach include but are not limited to: Western Day, Catamount Advising for Transfer Success (CATS) event, and other community college visits.
*Provide unofficial transcript evaluations for potential transfer students.
*Serve on WCU’s Transfer Advisory Board.
*Serve as the enrollment advisor for incoming students; new freshmen, transfers, and re-entering.
*Continue as support advisor through graduation for assigned students.
*Provide developmental academic advising to undeclared students.
*Collaborate with Career Services staff to provide general career counseling.
*Represent the Advising Center at recruitment functions.
*Teach Learning Contract (LC) 101 course as assigned to students in poor academic standing.
*Serve as liaison to assigned college and/or departments and meet regularly with Department Head(s)/Associate Dean(s) of assigned college(s).
*Provide advising information and support for the University community.
*Assist with the development, revision, and updating of Advising Center processes, forms, and publications as needed.
*Maintain appropriate electronic advising records and documentation.
*Participate in the assessment and evaluation of academic advising and advising programs.
*Participate in the ongoing professional development and encourage the growth of colleagues regarding transfer initiatives and trends.
*Other duties and responsibilities as assigned in support of the needs of students and the Advising Center

Minimum QualificationsMinimum of a Master’s Degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
Degree must be from an appropriately accredited institution.

Preferred QualificationsExperience with Microsoft Office preferred, knowledge of Banner preferred. Additional computer skills helpful.
