Overall Summary


As a service consultant you will be responsible for initiating automotive services and repairs by ascertaining vehicle performance problems and service requests; verifying warranty and service contract coverage; developing estimates; writing repair orders; maintaining customer records. You will serve as the communicator and liaison between the customer and technician; ensuring the customer's needs are understood by the technician and the needed and recommended service/repairs are understood by the customer.

This role requires juggling many customers, priorities, proactive communication, and follow-up throughout the day.


The Service Advisor will interact daily with customers, technicians, parts associates, cashiers, service manager, sales professionals, and dealership managers. We are looking for a dedicated professional to assist our customers with all of their service needs. The ideal candidate should be able to confidently communicate to our customers the value of maintaining their vehicle for optimal performance and have a proven track record of high customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

As a Service Advisor, you will be responsible for initiating automotive services and repairs by clearly communicating/documenting the customer's concerns, determining automotive performance problems and service requests, verifying warranty and service contract coverage, developing estimates and obtaining customer approval; writing detailed repair orders, and maintaining customer records.
•Serve as the communicator and liaison between the customer and technician, ensuring the customer’s needs of the automotive are understood by the technician and the needed and recommended service/repairs are understood by the customer.
•Verify automotive warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and explaining provisions and exclusions.
•Develop estimates by costing materials, supplies, labor and calculating customer's payment.
•Prepare repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required, obtaining customer approval signature and entering the RO into service database system.
•Communicate additional recommended repair and/or service needs to the customer based on vehicle inspection.
•Administer the manufacturer warranty for qualifying vehicle repairs.
•Present a friendly, professional greeting to customers and help identify, confirm and offer resolution to customer concerns.
•Consult with customers on applicable service specials and keeping the customer informed on completion times, expectations and service expenses.
•Determine vehicle needs based on customer information and a vehicle walk-around.
•Using a consultative selling process to assist customers in planning for on-going required maintenance of their vehicle.

Requirements:
•High School diploma or equivalent
•Proven ability to provide an exceptional customer experience with proven CSI
•CDK (ADP) experience is a plus!
•Ability to set and achieve targeted goals
•Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with many priorities
•Prior sales experience preferred but not required
•Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills
•Organization and follow-up skills
•Experience and desire to work with technology
•Valid in-state driver’s license and have and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record
