Job Summary

The Barback aids the bar operation by maintaining proper par levels of equipment and will assist the bartender in clearing used equipment from behind the bar.Additionally, the Barback will assist guests with their requests and have a working knowledge of the menus, wine list, liquor and cocktails.

Organizational Structure

The Barback-SkyBar reports directly to the SkyBar Manager.

What will I be doing?

Duties and Supporting Responsibilities
•Retrieves completed food and/or beverage orders from kitchen or bar; confirms accuracy of order and delivers to guests with appropriate condiments. When serving beverages, abides by all state, federal and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.

•Greets guests in a friendly and courteous manner and explain if necessary any specials and/or bar promotions

•Responsible for cleaning bar, setting up and breaking down the bar

•Replenishes beverages as necessary and checks with guest for overall satisfaction

•Maintaining cleanliness of the bar area at all times and well stocked with supplies and beverages

•Straightening bar area continuously

•Cleaning counters, floors, shelves and refrigerators; remove trash

•Checking coolers and shelves to ensure proper stocking of beer, wine, liquor and all beverages

•Stocking bar with ice as needed

•Checking for supplies such as sugar, salt, stir sticks, straws, napkins as per specified in side work list

•Requisition of additional supplies as needed

•Cutting fruit and garnishes

•Retrieving special garnishes from kitchen

•Restocking bar with clean glasses



• One year of food and beverage experience in a luxury hotel bar environment

•Previous public contact experience

•Knowledge of wine, spirits, and mixed drinks

•Ability to lift and carry objects of at least 15 lbs.

•Work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays

•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

•Must present a professional appearance and demeanor

•Strong written and verbal communication skills in the English language
