Description

What You’ll Do
We are looking for a software engineer who is passionate about joining a team that partners with engineering teams across Cisco to add security functionality to products so they can pass the US Government’s security certifications. As a member of our team, you will utilize your software engineering skills while working in an Agile environment. We are a dynamic team that is always learning new products and technologies rapidly in order to add the security functionality within the timeframe of a normal product release cycle.
You will get to work with many products and product teams as we prepare them for US Government certifications like FIPS, Common Criteria, Department of Defense Approved Product List and FedRAMP. You will have the opportunity to meet many new engineers across Cisco as well as interact with the US Public Sector sales team.
Who You’ll Work With
When you work with us, you will join an unrivaled engineering team that plays a critical mission in helping our Public Sector Sales team meet their bookings goals. Without our help, many Cisco products could not be sold into the US Government.
Who You Are
You love learning new technology and interacting with new people. You are comfortable in working in new software code bases and engineering environments. You are someone who is quick to learn “just enough” to get the job done and not becoming a technical expert in the product in which we are working. You can manage your time very well working within Agile sprints under the direction of a technical lead.
At a minimum, you will need the following:
US Citizenship required due to US Government contractual requirements.
BS in CS or CE with 5+ years of software engineering using an Object-Oriented language.
You should have a proven experience in both development and test within the Agile framework.
In addition, you should have strong interpersonal skills.
A huge plus is knowledge or experience in Cisco Collaboration and / or Security products.
A huge plus is having Java experience as well.
