Your role and responsibilities
As a Data Visualization and UI Software Engineer, you are responsible for designing, developing and maintaining our front-end and data visualization platform. With a strong focus on user experience, simplicity and elegance, you have a broad expertise in visualization technologies, with an emphasis on web-based, interactive and real-time techniques. You thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment that requires a unique blend of innovation, risk taking and speed of execution. This role is for highly technical front-end engineers who can deal with complex and large datasets, imagine novel ways of visualizing these data combine outstanding oral and written communication skills. Most importantly, you should demonstrate an ability to autonomously plan and organize their work assignments based on high-level team goals. You will interact on a daily basis with data scientists and machine learning specialists in order to develop and patent novel visualization techniques for highly dimensional data.
Our technology stack includes Python, Java and Scala as well as a wide range of internal tools built on top of Docker, Kubernetes, Cassandra, Kafka, Spark, Hadoop, InfluxDB and a variety of front-end visualization technologies (D3.js, WebGL, HTML5).
Degree in Computer Science or similar
5-7 Years of Experience
Proven track records in building data-intensive visualization front-ends, with a focus on user experience, simplicity and elegance
Experience in web design and web development (HTML5, CSS3, JQuery), including
RESTful API design and testing
Excellent quantitative, analytical and communication skills
Attention to detail and an eye for aesthetic design
Experience in data science, machine learning or statistics is a plus
