JOB DESCRIPTION:Follow established procedures and guidelines to provide timely and effective clerical support to the transport and distribution unit or department.
- Respond to routine internal and customer inquires on delivery times and the status of shipments and orders so that inquiries are dealt with promptly and accurately.
- Enter data into databases or other computerized systems to maintain up-to-date transportation records and to track the status of orders and deliveries.
- Contact shipping agencies, transport companies, and customers to verify delivery prices and schedules.
H.S. diploma or equivalent plus 2-5 years of related work experience or equivalent combination. Two year degree or some college credits preferred.
