Sr Actuarial Associate (Group Insurance Disability Valuation)-GRO000BE
The Group Insurance Disability Valuation Actuarial team is an integral part of the Group Insurance operation. The team performs valuation of Group Long Term and Short Term Disability products. Specifically, the team is responsible for calculating and analyzing monthly disability reserves, providing disability reinsurance support, forecasting disability reserves, model programing, testing and governance, and providing actuarial support to our business partners.
This assignment will provide actuarial support in monthly and quarterly GAAP and Stat reserve calculations and financial reporting, assist in model testing and programming, as well as performing actuarial analysis including but not limited to monthly claims analytics. In addition, the candidate will have to develop an understanding of how the actuarial results link to the overall results of the Business Unit.
This position will be located in Roseland, New Jersey.
Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or related field
2-3 Actuarial Exams Passed and working towards ASA designation
Minimum of 2 years of actuarial experience
Strong technical skills (Microsoft Excel, Access, etc.)
Programming Experience in any computer language is preferred but not required (e.g. Visual Basic, C++, etc.)
Highly motivated, well organized, and detail orientated
Strong verbal and written communication skills
