BGCAPP is subject to Army Regulations (AR50-6 Chemical Surety Program and BGCA Policy 28 Unescorted Access Program) which govern persons performing work under the Chemical Personnel Reliability Program (CPRP) and Unescorted Access Program (UAP). Eligibility to be placed in a CPRP or UAP position requires US citizenship. Employees must favorably complete a series of government background screenings to include but not limited to: a National Agency Check with Local Agency Check and Credit Check (NACLC) security investigation, drug/alcohol testing and medical examination.
BGCAPP operates on a 24/7 schedule. This position may be required to work a schedule of rotating shifts including nights, weekends or holidays. All employees are subject to and agree to random drug and alcohol testing as a condition of continued employment for the duration of their assignment. Respiratory screening and the ability to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) may be required for this position. The ability to obtain/maintain access to the Blue Grass Army Depot is required.
A Senior Control Systems Engineer is needed to perform technical work for starting up and operations of a large chemical demobilization facility. Selected candidate will be required to perform the following duties:
Perform complex design assignments involving application of engineering techniques similar to those found in chemical process or utility plants, review and prepare I&C drawings and design calculations and provide design recommendations in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and procedures.
Ensure adequate input and technical guidance to CAD designers and drafters as well as other engineers and vendors working on the same deliverables to promote technical excellence, and prepare detailed technical specifications and data sheets, requisitions for field instruments, and technical bid analysis of proposals, as well as review vendor documentation.
Work will support Start-up, maintenance, and operations in a facility setting. Performs work using computer aided engineering tools.
Plans, coordinates or prepares equipment or work specifications.
Prepares or assists in preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports or proposals.
Performs or assists in the performance of problem analysis and original design.
Extensive knowledge of field instrumentation selection, troubleshooting and operability.
Logic expertise to complete complex logic diagram and control narrative assignments similar to those found in chemical process or utility plants.
Prepares and/or assists in the preparation of quantity take-offs, forecasts and change orders.
Participates in reviewing and checking designs, drawings and data from suppliers, subcontractors and other engineering firms.
Provide support to the Startup and Maintenance Departments to troubleshoot existing field installations and disposition proposed field changes.
Prepares specifications and design calculations as necessary.
BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Computer or Electro-Mech engineering with 6 years of related experience.
Must be physically fit and able to work safely at a construction site.
Must be US citizen.
Familiar with design of facilities.
Hands on Microsoft office programs, VISIO, and other computer programs.
Extensive knowledge and application of Codes and Standards.
Extensive knowledge of field instrumentation troubleshooting, instrumentation selection and trouble shooting.
Previous hands-on or extensive working knowledge with special Control Systems engineering tasks, assignments and studies.
Excellent oral & written communications skills.
Proven leadership & personnel skills.
Must be able to obtain a site security badge.
MS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Computer or Electro-Mech engineering with 4 years of related experience.
Experience working on a Department of Defense Project.
Professional Engineer License.
