The Division of Allergy & ClinicalImmunology has an opening for a full-time Senior Professional Research Assistantposition. The position will provide support to ClinImmune Labs within theDivision of Allergy & Clinical Immunology. Researchwill focus on the role of HLA molecules in the development of autoimmunediseases such as Rheumatoid Arthritis and Type I Diabetes. Theindividual in this position will work both independently and in collaborationwith faculty and program leadership. Specific priorities and duties of thisposition may change as the operational structure and laboratory needs evolve.

Knowledge and experience in a laboratorysetting with an emphasis on excellent communication skills, extreme attentionto detail, process implementation, and process improvement is highly desirable.The individual in this position will work in a self-directed manner exercisingexcellent prioritization, and communication skills. The candidate must possessability to successfully manage competing and changing priorities. An individualwith solid laboratory skills, a commitment to excellence, a positive attitude andthe ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, technical, and evolvingenvironment will thrive in our division.

Examplesof Work Performed:

- Conduct basic and translational research on autoimmunediseases under the supervision of Dr. Christina Roark.
- Train personnel and manage thedaily operation of the laboratory.
- Assist with ordering supplies,preparing stock reagents, and maintaining equipment.
- Responsible for updating andmaintaining laboratory databases.
- Assistwith preparing and submitting manuscripts, reports, and IRB protocols andforms.

- Experience with mice and cell culture is required andexpertise in molecular biology is preferred.
- Experience in animal anesthesia and surgery, genotyping andbreeding mice.
- Experience with tissue collection and database management ofa mouse colony.
- Experience with molecular cloning, flowcytometry, and cell assays.

Salary and Benefits:
The hiring salary is negotiable and commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation. The University of Colorado offers a full benefits package. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
- B.A. or B.S. degree in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a closely related field.
- Experience with mice and cell culture is required

Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise in molecular biology Experience.
- Highly motivated and resourceful researcher and be able to work independently to move the project forward.
