We use a wide range of cloud platforms and technologies such as Ansible, Terraform, WS, etc. just to name a few. And we have a large catalog of internal and external training content that you can leverage, if you need to brush-up on something you know or to learn something new.This position will perform work that the U.S. government has specified can only be performed by a U.S. citizen on U.S. soil, and therefore any potential offer of employment is contingent upon verification of candidate’s U.S. citizenship.What is the primary need, technical challenge and/or problem you will be responsible for?The Public Sector Cloud Ops team drives the delivery and reliability of core applications, services and infrastructure that make up our Public SaaS offering (Government). We are often involved in the leading-edge use cases of the SaaS transformation of the product and work towards automated solutions for both infrastructure and the application.We need someone who has a DevOps mindset to solving problems, maintains a high degree of ownership and leadership as we continue our automation journey into the public sector for hosting our SaaS products. You would also be expected to drive technical decisions, identify the right tools & technologies and understand the implication of the technology choices on day two operational challenges. As a senior engineer, you would be expected to question the status quo and help make us better.Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing? · You will develop a solid understanding of the SaaS offering. This would be demonstrated by your understanding of the full infrastructure and automation stack and delivering features around the automation and Public Sector objectives.· You will enable other engineers in Automation, Security, and DevOps best practices. This would be demonstrated by leading and driving projects with other junior engineers in the other Cloud Services teams (Infrastructure/Application)· Work closely with leadership and other Cloud Services teams to define target state and create the roadmaps on how to get there on several infrastructure, security, and cloud related initiatives. This would be demonstrated by defining the vision for some (at least one) of our key deliverables around Application Automation, Infrastructure Automation, Logging, Vulnerability management etc.What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis? · You will be expected to come with 8+ years of industry experience with 3+ years in Development, Site Reliability or comparable Cloud Engineering position. You would also be expected to have industry experience in core infrastructure engineering from a Software or hardware perspective (Server / Network / Storage)· You will be expected to come very familiar with knowledge around CI/CD pipelines, security, and processes and cloud automation tooling like Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, etc.· Most of your time would be spent between writing high quality code with test coverage in Python & working with Cloud Automation software to deliver automated solutions across the entire stack and maintaining the uptime/reliability of cloud services.· Understanding the challenges and limitations of the existing system, tooling and architecture & demonstrate the ability to contribute to the roadmap and design discussions considering both these.· You will also mentor junior engineers and participate actively in developing the future senior technical talent in the organization. You are also expected to maintain and develop appropriate technical and professional skills which will you to drive innovation within the platform· Collaborate in-person or on Slack and Zoom with other R&D teams, other Services teams on projects and integrations for our Cloud Services.What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?The hiring manager for this role is Nick Combs, Manager of Federal Cloud Services. His experience is quite varied and most recently includes uplifting the Public Sector SaaS team that has built and maintains numerous production service environments. His previous roles involved him being a full stack engineer as the team created the environment in AWS GovCloud . Nick’s management philosophy is to build a team culture that encourages everyone on the team to be independent thinkers. He is there to ensure the team is working on appropriate business priorities and the team has everything at their disposal to think out of the box and execute on their ideas.The core team is current made up of 2 engineers, 1 program manager, and continues to grow! The team has varied backgrounds and are out of our US (Atlanta) office.
