What you will be doing
 
Under general direction of the Vice President – Health Systems Strategic Accounts. This role calls on or responds to client requests for issue resolution, including: contracting, delivery, rebating and credits, utilizing the AmerisourceBergen support resources network where necessary. This role sources data and generates appropriate reports in support of customer initiatives and projects. The Strategic Accounts Specialist maintains a continued relationship with existing strategic account customers in the health systems business segment via a combination of basic account servicing and more value-added services (e.g., select executive reporting as relates to ABC solutions). This role ensures continued implementation of targeted programs and solutions regularly updating customers on progress and status.  This role is responsible for managing projects and initiatives targeted at customer savings.
 
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Actively identifies and addresses customer (service) needs and issues within current contract to AmerisourceBergen, determining appropriate internal AmerisourceBergen support and raising issues to support to ensure issue resolution.
Works with customers as most regular point of contact to raise and resolve problems within contract.
Actively works with customer and AmerisourceBergen support team along the duration of an issue to ensure appropriate internal support and that overall issue is resolved.
Participates in required service training that will allow the AmerisourceBergen support team to continually maintain a strong support team with all customers.
Delivers regular updates to customers on resolved issues and implementation of new programs. Able to source data and generate appropriate reports.
Manages projects focused on Customer saving initiatives, collaborating extensively with the Segment sales team.
Actively works to drive margin expansion within the targeted customer base.
Works with internal teams and customers on appropriate retention strategy, taking initiative to ensure needs and timelines are met.
Must be willing to travel extensively within customer geographic territory; travels to events such as conferences, national and regional sales meetings.
Performs related duties as assigned.
 
What your background should look like (minimum qualifications)
 
 
Normally requires broad training in fields such as project management, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year bachelor’s degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education. Normally requires two (2) to four (4) years directly related and progressively responsible experience.
 
MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Strong customer service skills
Excellent follow-up skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong time management skills; ability to schedule customer appointments in advance
Good understanding of specific business segment
Good understanding of AmerisourceBergen Solutions support network, able to understand who can best resolve issues
Up-to-date knowledge of spreadsheet and presentation software and equipment
