Job Overview

 

As a backend Application Developer in the Data Analytics Team at Detroit Connect, you will work in an agile development team to build backend java code to ingest and analyze streaming vehicle data to support vehicle and driver analytics services within the Detroit Connect Telematics environment.  The Telematics environment is an integration of different functional systems: a Customer Portal and Mobile App, a Vehicle Communication Data Hub, a Big Data Analytics Engine, an On-Board Device, and a Subscription Management System.  This role will be primarily focused on development and test support within the Big Data Analytics Engine but will touch all aspects of the telematics environment as required.


Responsibilities


Work within an Agile team to implement business requirements in backend java applications.
Build endpoints to supply analyzed data to a customer facing web UI.
Work with the business and architects to determine optimum algorithms to build scalable analytics calculations
Develop and deploy code within a continuous integration, continuous deployment pipeline.
Collaborate with senior staff on development of robust methods on validation of connected vehicle data for quality and reliability.
Develop continuous monitoring and reporting on data ingestion and processing metrics as required.

Demonstrated strong self-starter who can produce results with a high-level of autonomy.
