Job Overview The Substrate & Materials Capacity Planner will have a full understanding of the many variables associated with Substrates mfg capacities and raw materials Suppliers, supply line and inventory strategies. The Materials Capacity Planner will work with cross functional teams to drive optimal supply line strategies, track and manage tactical supplier execution through direct oversight of indirect procurement via transparent 3-way communication model. The position is accountable for executing on the supplier sourcing strategy, proactively planning and managing new product introduction.
Manage Substrate and Materials supply for indirect procurement within QTIs pass-through-price or consignment business model. Recommendation of materials purchases based on Demand, Supply, Qualified sourcing paths, and defined Supplier business strategy
Validate system inputs and outputs to ensure data and planning integrity, collaborate with Sourcing manager to maintain accuracy of key product attributes maintained in Excel;
Recommend, implement and track Qualcomm owned buffer at package, substrate or materials suppliers. Drive strategy taking into consideration product life cycle, portfolio aggregation within mfg process, raw materials commonality, demand scale and volatility
The planner will also be responsible for managing the 12mo forecast, sent by direct buy source to Substrate suppliers and from Substrate suppliers to raw materials supplier. Analyze consolidated responses sent directly to QTI for overall supply line loading and abilty to maintain minimum lead times on demand and upsides.
Track and validate supplier reports in support of weekly and monthly processes. Responsible for ensuring suppliers adhere to reporting and drive continued improvement as business needs evolve.
Hold regular meetings with Sourcing Manager and cross functional teams for NPI to HVM transition. Support teams as supply focal point for any quality issues or supplier stops
Develop strong relationships with the Supplier execution teams in Asia and drive continuous supplier performance improvement

Minimum Qualifications 5 years experience in Procurement and/or Supply chain within a High-volume technology industry
Experience in assimilating large data sets and managing complexity.
Experience in modeling capacity in both Microsoft Excel and MRP system.
Advanced Excel experience including macros, relational database querying, and linear programming
Semiconductor packaging or materials background or strong familiarity.
Understanding of MRP and constraint-based planning concepts
APICS CPIM certification
Detail oriented, passionate about operational execution through teamwork
Effective data interpretation and analysis
Education Requirements Required: Bachelor's, Chemical, and/or Electrical Engineering and/or Materials Science
Preferred: Master's, Chemical, and/or Electrical Engineering and/or Materials Science
