Under limited supervision procures a variety of routine goods and services for the SCDJJ, Physical Plant as well as Maintenance Section in accordance with the provisions of the SC Procurement Code, SCEIS system, and Agency Policies. Track material shipments and/or returns. Ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials and supplies to respective job sites. Maintain working levels of materials and/or supplies necessary for the day to day operation of the DJJ Maintenance Shop. Serve as a supervisory on call resource person for the Maintenance Section of SCDJJ. In accordance with the SC Procurement Code and Agency Policy; procures materials and services up to $2,500. Secures quotes on materials and services in excess of $2,500 up to $10,000. Directs Annual inventory and provides "spot counts" as needed. Ensures proper paperwork is completed and counts are verified. Assist Supervisor with all procurement activities.; reviews material requests, provides limited specification development, analyzes quotes and recommends action, tracks purchases and returns. Evaluates perspective materials and supplies, recommends additions or replacements. Ensures prompt delivery, reviews counts and paperwork for accuracy and follows up on corrective action when needed. Administers SCDJJ Maintenance Credit Card purchases and serves as a resource person. Supervise SCDC Inmates as needed to assist in material deliveries. Separates materials according to job and ensures delivery to respective job sites. Acts as liaison between vendors and Maintenance staff. Maintains adequate inventory of day to day maintenance supplies, ensures rotation of goods. Serves as supervisory on call resource person for the Maintenance Section. Receives Emergency On Call inquires and respond accordingly. Provide for and ensure proper recycling of florescent bulbs and other materials as needed/required. Performs other duties as assigned by Management.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A high school diploma and 3 years of procurement or supply experience. Employee must have good written and verbal communication skills. Employee must have considerable knowledge of the trades and its nomenclature. Must have a valid South Carolina Driver's License.

Requires considerable knowledge of procurement principles and practices; supply management and inventory control methods and systems. Requires considerable knowledge of the SC Procurement Code and Agency Procurement Policies. Requires extensive knowledge of the material needs and supply operations of the Physical Plant, Maintenance Department. Must have a good understanding of inventory management and SCEIS system. Must have the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with Agency personnel, vendors, general public and state officials. The Employee receives general supervision from the Maintenance Superintendent. Employee must possess sufficient knowledge to make on-the-spot, independent judgments regarding materials, stock levels, and vendors. Employee will work independently and with others as needed. Employee will track purchases and returns to ensure delivery, accuracy, and timeliness. Must be able to lift 50lbs unassisted. Must be willing to work with SCDC Inmate labor. Must have a good knowledge of SCEIS system. This position performs duties relating to the custody, control, transportation and recapture of juveniles within the jurisdiction of SCDJJ; employee may have direct or indirect contact with incarcerated Youth. Training applicable to these duties will be provided.
