Job Responsibilities:

The Systems Administrator’s role is to install, monitor, maintain, and performance tune development, testing and production systems while ensuring high levels of data availability. Maintains, develops, implements, and oversees systems to ensure the integrity and availability of systems and their accompanying software. Responsible for all activities related to the administration, support, and design of a variety of systems. The System Administrator participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values.

Essential Duties:

Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.

Research and recommend innovative, and where possible, automated approaches for system administration tasks.

Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs.

Maintain and administer patch management system.

Support internet, and intranet systems.

Work with vendor support during technical planning, implementation and issue resolution steps.

Responsible for the day-to-day operational activities of the help desk support process.

Support end-users with IT-related problems in a responsive and service oriented manner.

Maintain network servers such as file servers, domain servers, and application servers.

Monitor backup jobs and ensure that they are completed with high success rate.

Respond to IT support issues with a high degree of urgency, prioritized based upon the needs and requests of others, internally and externally.

Assist in IT/project tasks including defining the project scope, goals, timelines and deliverables.
