What You'll Do
BroadCloud Engineering seeks a Systems Manager to join a team of talented engineers supporting Cisco’s worldwide datacenter operations hosting the BroadCloud family of products. This is a superb opportunity for someone with both technical and management skills providing value to all of BroadCloud Engineering while working with an industry leader in technology.
Supervises the activities of a team of Engineers with responsibility for the worldwide development and operation of data centers supporting the BroadCloud and Webex Calling products
Manages engineers of all levels and geographies
Workload management among team members, including implementation of innovative ticket management techniques and vulnerability management
Assumes leadership role in BroadCloud or multi-functional teams to drive service delivery and/or product improvements
Participates in major cross-functional projects affecting Cisco business, product, or service leadership
Identifies and works on issues that affect worldwide BroadCloud operations and other services teams
Provides management guidance to all levels of exempt employees on accomplishing goals
Work is reviewed and measured based on attainment of objectives and overall success of department
Who You'll Work With
Cisco’s BroadCloud Engineering team is a dynamic and growing organization looking for a Systems Manager to lead a team of Systems Engineers building and supporting our worldwide hosting platform. The manager handles escalations and assumes ownership for infrastructure projects and the management of the platform. The manager also works closely with the Networking, Security, and Operations teams to define, build, and operate a stable and scalable platform for internally-developed Internet-facing software. The ideal candidate demonstrates knowledge of business processes and team dynamics across the organization, as well as the superior coaching and motivational skills required to engage, develop and retain top talent across the engineering team.

Reports to a BroadCloud Senior Manager
Builds strong team relationships with BroadCloud teams located all over the world
Works particularly closely with Security and Networking teams to solve problems and complete projects
Travel / Shifts:
The job holder will work local office business hours and provide escalation point for on-call teams
Minimal travel is expected
Typically requires BS/BA or equivalent plus 10+ years-related experiences.
Excellent communication and presentation skills to lead the global Engineering team
Experience with datacenter operations
Experience managing large VMware environments
Possess 4+ years-prior management experience
Demonstrated drive for continuous learning, results-orientation, and teamwork
Professional & concise communication (written & verbal)
Flexible: very able to adapt to a changing environment
Ability to drive change through innovation & process improvement
Performs well under pressure and in disruptive environments where priorities can change in response to market and internal demand
Operational mind-set and disposition
Proven ability to work cross-function and cross-department
Demonstrated strategic skills
Experience with licensing, budgeting, and procurement
Experience writing Policies and Standard Operating Procedures
Ability to formulate and deliver complex presentations throughout Cisco
Demonstrated industry awareness
Experience with the following technologies:
Cisco’s Unified Computing System (UCS) and HyperFlex product lines
Virtualization, particularly VMware
Operating Systems including CentOS and Windows
Container technologies, especially Docker and Kubernetes
Cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform
NIST-based compliance frameworks
Common network technologies and topologies, including load balancing, trunking, TLS, VOIP
Must be a US citizen who can be certified to work on federal environments.
