JOB DESCRIPTION:We are seeking an experienced, high caliber Technical Services Specialist (TSS) who will provide direct technical support in response to field inquiries from internal and external customers on the business's portfolio of products.


Provides technical support via phone and email to external and internal customers for Abbott Point of Care (APOC) products.

Analyze complaints, diagnose probable causes; systematically eliminate alternatives; provide troubleshooting solutions; educate as appropriate; follow-up as necessary; for resolution of internal and external customer technical concerns.

Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the Quality System; document complaints in accordance with Quality standards; other regulatory requirements.

Recognize and communicate to management trends in product issues and their impact on customers.

Provide technical assistance and support to internal and external customers as needed.

Work cross-functionally to support organizational goals.

Participate in on-call activities as scheduled; support a 24/7/365 contact center where off-hour, weekend and holiday coverage is required.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Follow all EHS rules and procedures applicable for your department.

Report any EHS incidents, unsafe acts and conditions promptly to supervision.


Associate degree in Computer Science/Computer Networking Technology or certificate in healthcare-related field required.

Minimum 2 years related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or Associate’s degree; Bachelor's degree in medical technology or biomedical engineering (science, biology, chemistry, microbiology, biochemistry, pharmacy, pharmacology), math, engineering, medical fields is strongly preferred.

Experience working in healthcare or clinical setting or in the medical device industry, or equivalent

Experience configuring and troubleshooting instrument interfaces such as hospital data management systems

Experience troubleshooting instrument connectivity to hospital systems

Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively and concisely communicate with internal and external customers.

Ability and aptitude to evaluate complex processes and apply critical-thinking to complete assignments that are complex in nature where judgment and initiative are necessary to resolve technical problems.

Ability and aptitude to determine methods of addressing customer concerns and issues in real-time.

Independent decision-making skills in critical, fast-paced settings.

Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Ability or aptitude to use various types of databases and other computer software to complete tasks.

Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.

Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.

Must be able to work effectively to achieve assigned goals.

Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
