The primary function of this role is to triage, diagnosis and remediate Kroger Wide Area Network (WAN) and Local Area Network (LAN) incidents. This role is responsible for the overall stability, security and sustainability of Kroger's WAN and LAN infrastructure. This role interfaces directly with end users, technology partners and internal technology teams. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety. • Leverage experience and knowledge of wide area network routing protocols and devices and local area network switching protocols and devices to triage, diagnosis and remediate WAN and LAN network alerts to insure availability and mean-time-to-repair service levels agreements are achieved • Provide first level and second network operations for all WAN and LAN related Triage and remediate VSAT, cellular and wired and wireless WAN and LAN incidents • Technical Subject Matter Expert on Kroger's WAN and LAN network environments and operations • Recognize and appropriately escalate high priority incidents quickly to proper network level 3 team • Leverage experience and knowledge of Wi-Fi and wireless access point infrastructure to triage, diagnosis and remediate wireless infrastructure incidents • Provide critical network incident conference call facilitation and assistance • Configure bare metal network routers and network switches from scratch based on candidates knowledge and experience • incidents • Create and review network device and network system change procedures and documentation • Perform proactive maintenance on network routers, switches, CSU/DSU, wireless access points and other network equipment • Network device implementation support and assistance for new network devices • Assist with standard network requests to assist KTMs in new store standup and installations
 
Position Summary:

Triage, diagnose and remedy Kroger wide area network (WAN) and local area network (LAN) incidents. Ensure the overall stability, security and sustainability of Kroger’s WAN and LAN infrastructure, and interface directly with end users, technology partners and internal technology teams on solutions to network opportunities. Essential Job Functions:

Leverage experience and knowledge of WAN routing protocols/devices and LAN switching protocols/devices to triage, diagnose and remedy WAN and LAN network alerts to insure availability and mean time to repair (MTTR) service level agreements are achieved
Provide first-level and second-level network operations for all WAN and LAN related triage; remediate very small aperture terminal (VSAT), cellular, wired and wireless WAN and LAN incidents
Serve as the technical subject matter expert on Kroger’s WAN and LAN network environments and operations
Recognize and appropriately escalate high-priority incidents quickly to the proper network level 3 team
Leverage experience and knowledge of Wi-Fi and wireless access point infrastructure to triage, diagnose and remedy wireless infrastructure incidents
Facilitate and assist with conference calls related to critical network incidents
Configure bare metal network routers and network switches from scratch
Create and review network device and network system change procedures and documentation
Perform proactive maintenance on network routers, switches, channel service units (CSU)/data service units (DSU), wireless access points and other network equipment
Provide network device implementation support and assistance for new network devices
Assist with standard network requests to assist Kroger technology management (KTM) in new store standup and installations
Maintain flexibility to work any shift

Minimum Position Qualifications:

4 years of experience working in network technologies
Experience and knowledge of network routing and switching protocols
Proficient customer service skills
Highly motivated and service oriented
Must be self-motivated and capable of working
