Job Description Shift Engineer (shaft and tunnels) In coordination with Engineering and project management, review project designs for conformance to applicable laws, regulations, codes, best engineering practices, safety requirements, constructability, and operational considerations.
Review and recommend approval of in field design changes.
Responsibilities: Including but not limited to: Gather and record project quantities in quantity bookInput quantities into JDEdwardsEnsure those in the field have the most current informationUpdate project diary on daily basisMaintain erosion/environmental permit compliance paperworkManage utility locates and maintain compliance paperworkPerform quantity takeoffsCoordinate procurement and delivery of materials and onsite storageGather QA/QC material certifications for submittal Qualifications: 4years experience in TunnelingBS in Civil Engineering or Construction ManagementStrong working knowledge of Excel and WordExcellent verbal and written communication skillsJDEdwards experience is strongly preferredStrong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented and able to multitaskHas knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular fieldRelies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
