Vice President, Decision Sciences, Enterprise Business Intelligence
The Position
The Vice President, Decision Sciences is responsible for developing progressive analytics strategies to support the long-range business vision and strategy of the NBCU enterprise. She/he will be responsible leading the centralized Forecasting and Planning team, working with individual business units to improve the process, accuracy, and on-going frequency of inventory plans and forecasts. This person is also responsible for supporting the broader advanced analytics work taking place throughout the company utilizing advanced data, ML, and AI capabilities.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Thought Leadership
Develop progressive and innovative cross-platform analytics strategies and tools that support the long-range vision and strategy of NBCU
Provide multi-platform advanced analytics, insights, and analysis to support programming, sales and marketing and PR initiatives
Data Strategy
Develop and support the long-term data strategies and solutions that are consistent with the long range business vision
Assess and leverage multiple data sources to support and accelerate business content and monetization strategies
Assess appropriate vendor relationships related to advanced analytical tools, technology, and data acquisition, aggregation, and curating
Analytics, Insights, Solution Implementation, and Storytelling
Develop data mining and integration abilities to create insights
Develop narratives  and storytelling to support critical business decision making
Provide sophisticated analysis on consumer behaviors, media and technology usage and a vision of how various business should react to those changes in terms of content and distribution strategies
Partner with corporate sales and integrated media groups to imagine new ways of packaging with appropriate data analytics input
Cultural and Team Leadership
Develop and support an advanced analytics organization that is able to execute on progressive analytical strategies across all platforms
Lead and mentor the analytics team to be future looking, adaptive and innovative
Provide daily and strategic leadership to the Centralized Forecast and Planning team
External Focus
Bring an in-depth understanding of the industry and its competitors, including trends, current and emerging analytical methods, data methodology and technology
Strategic/Cultural Leadership
Effectively collaborate across the NBC Universal research and analytical teams to establish and implement best practices throughout the organization
Act as a key member of the NBCU Enterprise Business Intelligence leadership team, displaying an ability to go beyond functional expertise as an analytical scientist, big data, ML, and AI expert
• Minimum 10 years of experience in analytics with increasing responsibility in the Entertainment, Media, Communications, Financial Services or related industries
• Experience with large data sets and advanced analytical tools
• Experience with advanced analytics and Machine Learning methodologies

• A Bachelors’ degree is required with an advanced degree (MA, MBA, PhD or equivalent) in Finance, Marketing, Business, Applied Mathematics, Statistics,
