This individual will have access to our CEO, investment managers, and executive leaders to develop narratives and activations that resonate across earned media channels. They will also develop and lead all aspects of and execute our employee communications strategy as well as fully own our employee communication tools such as our employee website, surveys, etc.The candidate has passion and curiosity for developing communication programs for purpose driven brands and should possess outstanding communication skills. They should have a proven track record in developing and managing critical communication plans, including leading the development and implementation of innovative / outstanding earned media programs. The goal is to improve the impact of our firm’s media exposure as well as generate employee engagement to support the firm’s business objectives and brand purpose.Responsibilities and Deliverables:Promote, protect, and improve the reputation of our business and brand(s) through building relationships and ongoing engagement with the media and other external partners / influencersServe as a trusted communications strategist and advisor for the C-suiteLead and execute an audience appropriate, coordinated and innovative communications strategy, including public relations, traditional/social media, crisis communications and employee communicationsStrengthen existing and establish new relationships with global, national, regional and trade media across digital platformsPartner closely with paid media counterparts to ensure programs harness the power of paid and earned mediaConduct media relations in a proactive and strategic manner, establishing and maintaining relationships based on trust with key journalists, influential bloggers and other leading opinion-makersDevelop and share standard methodologies, including operationalizing measurement and reporting, as well as other pivotal initiatives that help to build the organization’s understanding and value of earned media and its ability to affect business goalsWork closely with the other areas of the firm as appropriate to execute on a cross-functional internal and external communication strategyBuild strategic opportunities, and capture relevant market events, through which senior leaders can share their points of view and expertiseDeveloping internal communications strategy, while advancing the employee experience. This is inclusive of all employee communication channels (employee website, town halls, email communications, etc.)Leading and developing a team of 8 communications professionalsUsing communications to spotlight and help drive growth in key global marketsQualifications & Experience:Significant external communications experience which has involved working closely and strategically with executive leadershipExperience developing market-positioning platforms for a CEO and/or other high-profile leadersDeep Financial Services credentials along with a keen understanding of global financial marketsGlobal experience and viewAble to advance innovative communications concepts to support a corporate brand and an array of investment products and servicesAdept in the appropriate use of multiple streams of communication -- from traditional channels to digital and social mediaExperience with addressing and developing communication strategies for the institutional investor, intermediary, and consumer direct audienceStrong writer and presenter, with a style and approach that is clear, concise and persuasiveGood judgment and the capacity to accurately assess complicated situations.
