Job Summary
The School of Interdisciplinary Studies and Professional Development at The University of Southern Mississippi invites applications for a full-time, visiting faculty professor of practice in Human Capital Development to begin in January 2020. The School of Interdisciplinary Studies and Professional Development’s programs in this field include a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies, a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies (Land Management), an M.S. in Human Capital Development, an M.S. in Human Capital Development (Instructional Technology and Design), a Ph.D. in Human Capital Development, and a Ph.D. in Human Capital Development (Instructional Technology and Design).

Primary Duties and Responsibilities


1.Teach graduate level coursework;

2.Support a robust research agenda to include the creation and dissemination of new knowledge, and supervise graduate-level research;

3.Assist with the assessment and evaluation of programs;

4.Hold regular office hours;

5.Provide service to assist the functioning of the School, College, and University;

6.Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications 1.Ph.D. in Human Capital Development or related discipline from a regionally accredited institution.

2.Evidence of current, relevant industry experience in human capital development.

3.Evidence of successful college teaching experience.

4.Evidence of successful research or scholarly activity.

5.Ability to work effectively with administration, faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications 1.Experience in workforce development, instructional systems design, measurement and evaluation, performance improvement, and competency modeling.

2.Experience leading human capital development work teams, planning and managing human capital development projects, instructing online courses, and working with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and courseware development tools.

3.Professional licensure, certifications or awards in human capital development or related area.
