The Four Agreements: Some Very Nourishing Food For Thought
I’m not big on personal philosophies outside of my own. Because at the end of the day that’s the only one that matters. But arriving at your own personal philosophy is not always a straight line journey, and it’s certainly not without its share of exterior influences.
The other day, on Facebook, I saw this…I guess you could call it an info-graphic, in which the author, one Don Miguel Ruez, laid out something he referred to as The Four Agreements.
I read this over a couple of times, because as we all know, a lot of the stuff you see on Facebook has a certain percentage of bullshit attached to it, all the way to 100% most of the time.
But this one was a little different. And maybe it’s just the time of year, when we are all thinking about where we want to go. Or maybe it’s the time we live in, so full of uncertainly and weirdness, but the advice contained in this piece all made sense to me.
It made sense mainly, because I found that I was trying to do most of it anyway. But it also made sense because it solidified a lot of stuff that was floating around randomly in my head. And I like anything that will help make life less chaotic, especially in between my ears.
Maybe you’re feeling the same way. Maybe you’re feeling like things are a little on the uncertain side having just emerged from what many believe was one of the crappiest years ever. Or maybe you just feel you might be missing a piece or two from the jigsaw puzzle that is your personal philosophy.
Whatever the reason, I think you will find this, at the very least interesting and at the very most, useful. And these days, with all the boring drivel out there, those adjectives are worth paying attention to.
Have a great day wherever you are. Keep the faith. And keep on buzzing.

Thanks Phil Friedman. The bonus of being an aging anything is that you no longer give a shit about political correctness. Oddly enough, that makes us all more relevant than ever. (That could be an HSHS idea, let me think about that)

I make up words too... the whole English language is a bastardization of many other languages. Why should Shakespeare and hipsters have all the fun?

You like that? I make up words all the time. I call it poetic license.
