Rebounding for Travel
I've been offline more than online recently. My husband and I both ended up coming down with a nasty Respiratory flu which turned into infections for both of us. After 10 days or so we both went to our Doctors. I ended up with an ear infection, sinus and laryngitis. My husband wasn't as lucky, he ended up with pneumonia and had to go back to the Doctor today because his antibiotics didn't work. I'm a wimp when I'm sick... just let me be and I can wimp out on my own. My husband is a bit needier, although anyone that works with him would never know, he saves it all for me when he comes home. I'm not complaining because he does have a lung condition called Sarcoidosis and he's been on immunosuppressant drugs to stop lung scarring. The downside to these drugs, they make him more susceptible to more severe infections. It's been over two weeks and he's still not well. Today the Doctor ran a ton of tests and put him on two antibiotics along with steroids for his breathing. He's a tough cookie though because he's only missed one day or work in the past 15 days, unbelievable. And, I have been trying to pamper him since he's been sicker than me! That's why I've been really quiet and fairly absent over the past 2-3 weeks. When it rains it pours. We both had the stomach flu a week before. We've been lucky though because we haven't been this sick in a long time.
To top it off part of my pain was coming from a tooth. I went to the dentist and found out my wisdom tooth has a cavity so it's getting removed on Tuesday. Ok, I admit, I have extreme dental phobia so I'm really looking forward to having this tooth removed. I think I should have a Mimosa breakfast before I leave, what do you think? The dentist told me it's an uncomplicated removal and it will 'slide right out.' He better not be lying to me or I might have to bite him.
We were supposed to leave for Colorado this week but had to reschedule for the next week so he can get caught up on some last minute things and we are feeling better. We are taking a road trip out there to see our son, daughter in law and grandsons. Long over-do trip. It's been 2 years since we last took a trip out there. We are stopping in Louisville Ky for 2 nights so we can hit the Bourbon trail. I wrote about this a few weeks ago. I'm not a bourbon drinker but I look forward to seeing the sights along the way and eating good food! After Dean Owen shared a blog about Bourbons in Japan, I decided I have to try a few, let's just hope I don't stumble after trying some! We are also stopping in St. Louis for a night but will get there early enough to explore a bit. I can't wait for the drive through Kansas, I think the most exciting part of that drive will be looking for Dorothy and Toto! After watching the weather, we might want to bring our tornado chaser technology with us. Ok, I lied, we don't own any. Hoping to miss any severe storms in the Midwest! Excited to get out to Denver.
Here are a few pics from previous trips which gets me even more excited when I re-visit the photos.

Golden, Colorado (South Platte River... I think?)
If you've been to Colorado or live there, would love idea's on places/towns that are within an hour and a half from Broomfield that are fun for both adults and children! Maybe John White, MBA may have some ideas? I was looking at Frisco and Dillon Lake.
